I'm shooting my 308 CTR with the factory stock and its OK.  But,… that being said I plan on changing it at some point, the action deserves a better stock.

I really wish the CTR came with the same Tac / Super Varmint stock.  I like the wider forearm for all shooting from hunting to range shooting…the rifle just feels better IMO with this option and I shoot better if I like the handling of the rifle. A LOP adjustable stock without spacers would be nice as well, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Correct, different barrel lengths…exact measurements:

Lite = 22 7/16″
Varmint = 23 3/4″

I think like everything else, when it first came to market they had a few issues so a few people posted some bad reviews, but everything I read on recent forums and written review say its an amazing chassis.

Same goes for the MDT LSS as well, good reviews.  I think it just comes down to personal preference.
If you do get the LSS please post a complete review.

Looks like a good system, I've been eyeing it myself for few months…but I'm not sure I like the small design of the forearm.  Not sure how it will perform in the field shooting off various packs or surfaces.  The biggest reason why I haven't purchased it is because of the price…by the time you add accessories and a fully adjustable butt stock is in the $1000 range.

I really like KRG X-RAY CHASSIS if we are talking about a $1000 price range.  Just another option for you to look at…Good info here…http://www.sincityprecision.com/?p=2957

Both are great choices…if its a dedicated scope for that rifle only then DNZ is also the cheaper route.
I only invest in rails & rings due to the fact I change a couple scopes between rifles depending on hunting or target shooting.

Can't go wrong with either option in regards to quality of product.

All load data on the target picture…NO chronograph reading yet, I have to do that before I order the turret.
I'm guessing from previous powder test,… but I should be somewhere in the 2850-2900fps range.

Should be able to reach out to about 800yrds with sub MOA accuracy with good impact on fur…
Not that I would ever try for a shot like that on a yote… 😉

I'm finely happy with the 75gr amax load I've been working on.
Shot it this past weekend on a predator hunt… only targets were killed!

Nothing moving and snow conditions were terrible so we turned the hunt into a target shoot instead.
A buddy bet me I could not shoot “a” round through the factory hole in the splatter targets (see attached) at 100yrds.  I love a bet so I could not refuse.

Stapled the targets to a few trees and got back 100yrds.  Well…I missed the hole on all “6” shots I fired (2 – 3 shot clips).  My gun shot 3/8″ high from POI which was the centre of the hole. But no one was laughing!
What resulted was the best “6” shot group I have ever fired at 100yrds!  EVER…And thats a lot of groups! All 6 shots went through the same hole.  Produced a nice 1/4″ ragged hole.  No one would have believed it if they had not witnessed it.  I've done similar 3 shot groups but never a 5 or 6 shot 1 hole group so small.

So…Glad to say I'm done with my 75gr Amax Load development!!!
They feed really nice through my mag mod.  CNC'd the back out, cut a new part and expoxied it in place.
And lengthened the follower by 1/4″…lots of room now!

Going to top this entire project off with a nice custom “Kenton Turret” for my Viper HS LR.
This combo will be a coyotes worst nightmare….Onless you can use a 338 Lapua in your area. LOL…

I shoot a 300wsm and I've had similar patterns many times with the “Lite” barrel, cold bore shot…1/2″ – 3/4″ away from shot 2&3…but 2″ is beyond anything we have gotten in our group of shooters.

Whats your procedure for shooting the group?…are you cold bore shooting each round or launching them with time between each allowing the chamber and barrel to heat up.

Check out the 3 shots in the “heart” on the Deer target to see if its a pattern like yours…this is pretty much the extreme spread I would get shooting my 300wsm from a cold bore and then taking my time for the 2 remaining shots letting the barrel and chamber heat up.  I do not get this dramatic POI shift if i'm paying attention to barrel temp…I've mostly experienced this in my 300wsm with hot loads or fast factory ammo. 
The rifle is very consistent shooter so I've learned to compensate for this after many range sessions.

The 2 other targets show 3 shot groups firing the same ammo as fast as I can at the same POI…big difference if you don't wait between rounds!

All groups shot with factory 150gr Winchester Silver Tips @ 3300+fps….

I have a vxl 50mm on my tikka and I run a low DnZ mount. It puts the scope right where it needs to be.

How much space you have between the objective bell and the barrel?

The quality control on Boyd's stocks seem to be lacking these days.  There is no way they test fit every stock to an action before it leaves their facility!

We tried fitting one to my buddies T3 223 a few months back and the barrel channel was so off we could not assemble the rifle.  The stock was warped and the inletting was cut 1/8″ more to one side (see pics). They refunded the money right away but the wait and headache was more than we wanted to go through again to place another order for a replacement.  They did ask for pictures of the problem and we had to cut the stock in half and provide a picture of the stock in 2 pcs before the refund. I've seen them fit like a glove on some rifles but it hit or miss with a $100.00 stock. 

Everyone seems to have a great review for MT stocks so that would be my choice even though its more money.  You get what you pay for.

A good friend of mine shoots 150gr Winchester Silver tips out of his Tikka T3 30-06 stainless.
Its probably the most accurate factory load we've tested in that rifle.

That being said I can honestly say any factory ammo we've fired out of his gun will group 1″ or better on average @ 100yrds.

But you can't beat the the consistency of hand loads if you are looking for the best accuracy.
