I like the shooting position posture and cheek weld with a .9-1″ ring height.
Seems to fit me best for all shooting positions from prone to bench.  I also have a browning neoprene cheek pad/pack on my rifle that makes it very comfortable to shoot….doesn't really change your cheek weld much, if anything maybe 1/8″ difference on height, but a lot nicer pushing into the gun.  See attached…

You should have no issues mounting the 30mm Seekins low rings (.82″) and a 50mm objective.  It might actually be a perfect ring / rail height combo… 

I'm currently using Leupold Med PRW rings (.97″ht) + MT rails (either 0moa or 20moa) and Vortex 30mm tube…no issues up to 50mm objective.  Here's what my ring ht and MT rails look like with 30mm tube and 50mm objective…the Lite has the 20moa rail…the varmint has a 0moa rail cut back to receiver length.

Have you thought about a 260…?

I own a 308 and my buddy owns a 270…both great guns but if I was buying a new rifle tomorrow for all around shooting any Deer related hunting I would be buying a 260, way less recoil, great ballistics, and most are super accurate…the ammo is harder to find but the 260 does everything better in my opinion.

That being said, if you are set on a 308 or 270 I would be go 308…again less recoil and more accurate then the 270 in my experience.

I would think if price was a set amount…then it would be availability and relationship with the vendor.
Even then I think there would be exceptions.  I have waited in the past for a preferred vendor to get inventory so I could buy a product from them.

Example…I waited for you guys to get your bottom metal and shrouds complete before I purchased more.
I figured I could wait, because I liked your previous products… and I would rather give you the money then another supplier/vendor.

What do you think about buying guns online?
– I've bought 3 “new” guns on line but no used guns.  That being said, I would not have a problem buying a used gun if it was from a reputable source, or individual.

Why would you?
– To price shop and to find availability…no reason paying more for the same gun if you can get for less somewhere else, close to you.  I usually don't mind a few bucks here or there is its from a source or vendor I like dealing with and help support.

Why would you not?
– Needs to be a reputable source, if not… there is no way I would buy if the company or individual had a bad rating.  Returns and service can be a nightmare.

What would entice you?
– Usually competitive pricing and previous experience with the vendor on other items… I would rather help and support a vendor with whom I've had a previous good buying experience, even if the price is sometimes a little more.  Thats why service is so important.

AL makes a very good point… I was using a metal trigger guard/bottom on my B&C stock so I had no issues.
You might want to take it slow with the plastic bottom.

You might be going in the wrong direction with the torq settings….try increasing in increments of 5in/lbs all the way up to 65in/lbs…These stocks act like a tuning fork and from my experience like higher torq settings then the factory stock.  I think (you may want to confirm) but Bell & Carlson recommends 65in/lbs max setting.  I think I was using 55in/lbs for my 300wsm front and back in a medalist stock.  As apposed to 45in/lbs in the factory stock.  You will waste time and ammo working below 45in/lbs using synthetic stock settings…The contour of the inletting for the action is not shape cut to fit perfectly like the Tikka factory stock so i can't see how you will find a low torq setting that will work.  Usually you can only go low on torq setting if the action is bedded.

This would be a great write up if you decide to try and record this using a factory round and show results.
I would love to see it.

LOL…you stole my stock Eric!  Lol…I was way to slow to react when Jason said he had a few of these in.
Interested to see your actual shooting results if you try it on one of your rifles that you already shoot.

Any chance you can do a comparison test at the range? same rifle, same handholds or factory ammo, just switch out the stock?  I'm really hoping the stock will absorb recoil / vibration better and improve the accuracy, even a little bit.  The design and grip should help produce better groups on the bench forsure!

I just received my Berserk Stock from MT and it is a very nice piece of work!!  Cheek piece and But pad adjustments are crisp and there is no wiggle.  It comes with a recoil lug installed (I forget what it is made of).  Now I just have to decide which of my T3's to put in it!
