Hey Jordon,
I broke in my Tikka T3X 300WM similar to what's been mentioned here. I experienced a fair amount of fowling the first 30-40 rounds or so and then began to see a sizable improvement. Barrel cleaned up much easier and quicker after that period.

Thanks, David for the additional info.
Looking at 200gr ELD-X with 78gr H1000 and an a COAL of 3.502 it's a fairly compressed load.

Don't fire a tikka light in 300 WM without a brake – just my advice
It will kick like a mule and a brake will make things way more manageable.
I've actually found my Tikka Lite .300 to be quite manageable without the brake and I'm an average sized guy. I do plan to add one though. To clarify, I'm also not shooting dozens and dozens of rounds – which would indeed wear the shoulder considerably and no doubt impact accuracy.
I did install a Limbsaver recoil pad though I'm a firm believer that proper form and consistent shooting are the biggest contributing factors when shooting any firearm.

Just purchased a rail from Mountain Tacticla to avoid any of these mounting issues.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions!
In my research I ran across Terminator Brakes and was looking at the T2 which is $200. Watching the YouTube video comparisons against other well know brakes I was impressed!
I'd welcome any other suggestions.
