Hi Guys,
any guidance how to disassemble the firing pin assy to change the main spring to a stronger one? Any recommendation for a stronger main spring?
Thanx

Dismantling is easy. Holding the bolt twist the rear cap clockwise, away from the bolt handle, it should then slide off. Return to original position turning anti clockwise but not to far. Put a small allen key (US Hex wrench) in between the hole you can now see and turn anti clockwise.

Dear tismey,
Thanks, but I know how to disassemble the bolt, it's described even in the rifle's manual. What I would like to know is how to disassemble the firing pin assembly, what you take out of the bolt. I want to change the spring alone.

Sorry only just seen this and sorry for the misunderstanding. Pull back the cup at the front of the spring and you will find a small clip once that is prized off it all comes apart.

Yeah, I found it out on my old firing pin assy. Now the new problem is how could I put the tiny lttle ring back? It opened up while removing, and I’m not sure if I can push it back together to lock the cap again without braking…

I've not got one in front of me but from what I remember once the cup is over it the spring can't come off so bending it back to size might be ok. Its sprung steel so should be ok to close up again and push the cup over. For peace of mind though a new one is probably best.

Yeah, that's what I tought too, but you can't order anything “smaller” than whole firing pin assy. No further breakdown in the spare parts list.

Have you not got a hardware shop (translates to store in US ;D) near you that sells wire snap rings? (no idea what a wire snap ring is called in the US)

I keep thinking everyone on here's from the states. If you're in Hungary then order one from the factory they must be able to get it to you in a couple of days

Unfortunately this is not the case. First of all as I wrote here earlier, the smallest „unit” anyone could order from the factory is a complete firing pin assembly (not just for M695, for most modells too). Look up the User Manual of the M695 on their homepage, and you’ll see. No further breakdown, no smaller parts from within the complete assembly available. Another problem is Tikka/Sako delivers once in every half year to Hungary, at least the only authorized dealer for Hungary claims it. I couldn’t find out whether it’s really Tikka’s policy or the dealer’s fault, but that’s the case anyways. I contacted them earlier in other subjects (as you can’t contact Tikka directly anyways), and this was their answer all the time. So I’m kinda stuck. Thank God I have a prefect pin assembly in my rifle, so it’s rather a theorethical problem, not a real issue. Thanks for your answers tough.
