    Guys:

Thanks for the suggestions.  The bolt is now reassembled.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a trouble shooting venture, as the rifle still will not fire.  The primer hits are too light to provide ignition.

    Any other suggestions?  Trigger?

    Thanks again,

    Bob

Mainspring and firing pin are fine.

For whatever reason, I can't get that mainspring in deep enough for the handle to clear.

I assume the flat spot on the main spring shaft is supposed to show in the slot where the handle is inserted.

I can't seem to get that spring and shaft in the bolt deep enough so the handle snugs in.

I'm only very slightly off, but it's enough.

Managed to remove shroud, remove bolt handle, remove mainspring, inspect and lube.  Currently having difficulty reinserting bolt handle.

Why , ( how) does that guy in the video make it look so easy ?

    Kevin:

I have a new to me 85 Sako and the same part was included as part of the pkg.

I was confused as well until I consulted the schematic.  Methinks it's listed as a decocker.

I'm not sure if the cap is removable, but I have had the stock professionally coated, and the cap was part of the process.

    I believe cerakote was used.
