That actually makes sense. Gonna try that first. I have access to a quality caliper.
I have also reached out to Tikka to find out if there are and distinguishable markings on the different bolts. Ie. part, serial, or model number.

Thx guys. Not sure what a go no go guage is. Anyone have links or pics so I can look at one? Is this a mechanics tool or a gunsmith type tool?

I have two T3 Varmint stocks sitting on my workbench.
Took them off my T3 .223 and ,22-250 when I shifted to MDT chassis.
If you are interested I'll send you one just for the cost of shipping.

That’s awesome. Really do appreciate the offer. Love the support!!!
I’m going to pass though as my fox worked quite well and actually looking at selling the rifle.
Thanks again Northlight!

Completed the repair with great results. Seems as strong as new. Basically followed the crack with a sharp point soldering iron and the folded the molten material back over on itself.
Sorry for no pics of the actual process but things happened pretty quick and didn’t want to have it cool on me while working it.
I’ll get some before and after pics up soon.

Direct quote from Tikka:
“Hi, the material is injection molded polypropylene glass fiber composite.”
So it looks like the next move is some plastic welding. I’ll post an update when I get it done.If this does not work I will be going the route of a direct replacement Tikka stock.

More response from me
That was a spectacular diy
Here in the states we don’t see that option usually. I would make this my first choice if I had the option, but we will need to spread the word in the meantime.
Not to put too delicate a point on it, what kind of cost are we looking at?I purchased for $155 canadian delivered.
Two options for purchase in Canada or USA:

Just want to make sure that I understand. Without placing your finger anywhere near the trigger, when cocked and ready to fire, the firing pin would release when you put the safety on? Thats pretty crazy and extremely concerning.
Really interested in the response from Cabelas/Tikka. Can you share it with us.

Install complete. Very reasonable process.
Will create an install thread soon. Is this the right section (Equipment) to create it in?

I have a plan. Kalix Teknik replies to my questions on their Facebook page through IM. I will be doing the install this weekend and will post how it goes for anyone else performing the install.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with all of Your comments. From the little information I have been able to gather since creating this post there is a way to remove the grate and foam however still can’t find any formal documentation or pics of how to do it. I have reached out to both tikka and Kalix Teknik for more info. In the meantime I welcome more comments if anyone else has done this in the past.
