Trigger installation torque?
Posted by gandhi on July 31, 2018 at 1:06 pmHi,
I've just pillar bedded my Tikka m558 in .308 win.
Does anyone know the recommended torque for the allen screw that holds the trigger to the action? Most probably the same as for T3/T3x since the screw is the same dimension and installation concept is the same.

I will be first to say I don’t know, when I torque my trigger group down I use 25-35 inchlbs

M6 x 20mm trigger assembly screw has a recommended torque of 55-65 in-lbs to the action.
Aftermarket trigger manufacturers are also recommending this torque spec in their replacement kits.
Heres a link to one aftermarket kit so you can verify… -

Wow 65 in-lbs is tight… I wonder why the high specs
I have twisted the ends off otherwise beefy seeming screws at 50 in-lbs -

Thats in/lbs not lbs….thats not an uncommon torque spec for this bolt or assembly.
No different than an action screw directly to a chassis…metal to metal contact. -

30 to 35 inch lbs. sounds like it would be about right .
