ATTENTION: DANGEROUS DISCOVERY ON MY TIKKA t3x 7mm mag
CAUTION:
I purchased a new T3X Cabelas special 7mm mag, broke it in with 20 rds shooting single shot.
Was going for groups this morning and bearing down to get the best results for load. I wasn't quite settled in the middle of the 3rd 5rd testing so I put my gun on safety.
BANG!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe it but started thinking how dangerous this was and so I tested it 10 times with a snap cap in chamber.
Sometimes it fired at the first safty on sometimes the 2nd or 3rd. But it did it every time.
I will notify Cabelas and Tikka on Monday but had to post to warn just so IF there are any others out there you can be aware and test for the issue.
Just rack the bolt ready to fire and then pull back the safety. If it doesnt set off the firing pin recock and try it again.
Please pase this around as I dont want to see an accident if there are others out there.
My Tikka is a T3X 7mm Mag Cabelas exclusive.

Just want to make sure that I understand. Without placing your finger anywhere near the trigger, when cocked and ready to fire, the firing pin would release when you put the safety on? Thats pretty crazy and extremely concerning.
Really interested in the response from Cabelas/Tikka. Can you share it with us.
