Hi Mike,
I've run the Vortex cantilever mount on a 223 Varmint wearing our rail in a GRS stock. Luckily the stock had an adjustable check piece because the scope was HIGH.
Eventually I moved this optic back to my AR10 where it seems better fitted.
Just my experience.

Hi Dano,
This is one part that Tikka kept the same between the two models.
We have a great one but I'm sold out at the moment. Production will start up on a new batch next week.

I'm a little biased but I think they're awesome! 😉
If you don't like it, send it back for a full refund.
My 0 MOAs should be hitting the mail tomorrow with the 20s following shortly

Hey Guys,
The bad shipment of steel a couple months back really set me behind on this project. I have two working prototypes as well as a few OEM prototypes so I know the concept works.
My plan was to be ahead for hunting season so I machined 600 optic mounts and 400 shrouds. When I was on vacation a few weeks ago Greg called me and said we were sold out. Holy smokes!
So I've been working on another run of rails and shrouds so I can get back to the bottom metal and mag projects.
This has been our biggest season yet and I'm sitting here with my pants down.
Thank you all for your patience!
I'll get these out as soon as I can

Hi J,
I've been working on Gen2 Bolt Shrouds since last Monday. That wasn't on our list, but they needed a face-lift.
The bad shipment of steel put me really far behind on new products. I have working prototypes for the OEM Bottom Metal and the Long Action (3.6″ COAL) AICS Bottom Metal.
Kicking off production shouldn't be a problem once I get back-ordered products back on the shelf.
My new batch of steel will be arriving tomorrow. My goal is to be caught up with machining in the next two weeks and then get these much anticipated products on the mill!

I wish you would have thought of this earlier. I'm 2 1/2 months into a 6 month waiting period for my 17 Remington Fireball. By the time I'm done with optics and all I will have about $3,500.00 in rifle
Don't feel bad PA. This is still the idea phase. Building guns locally has been a piece of cake, opening it up to the country is challenging.
I would definitely need to buy more tools to handle the increased volume.
All good problems to have! Anyone have $80k lying around so I can buy a new cnc lathe?

That's the exact price range I'm trying to stay within Al. Of course, your lugs might double the price! 😉

So the question is, how much would you pay for a semi-custom hunting rifle?
If it's a factory chambering, with one of our American Hunter stocks, upgraded lug, optic mounts, Limbsaver Recoil pad, tuned trigger and a professional bed job?
If it's a custom match grade barrel in a custom chambering with all of the above?
If it's a Varmint Model clone in any chamber you want, custom stock, match grade barrel, full bed job, muzzle brake, upgraded lug, optic mounts, Limbsaver, tuned trigger (or custom trigger)?
What do you guys think?
How much is a semi-custom and full-custom rifle worth to you?
We might even include YukonAl's lug! 😉

I would have to cannibalize rifles. Beretta was pretty clear they aren't interested in sending me plain actions.
The good news is, that would provide an affordable source of OEM parts instead of the overpriced ones at Brownell's.
It's not Brownell's fault, Beretta charges them an arm and a leg for components.

We've been doing a ton of customs here at the shop the last couple years. Gunsmithing services are tough to advertise online so I'm definitely interested in this type of input.
Which bottom metal are you using?
I have 6.5 barrels and can contour them to any dimension you like. Most customers go with either the Tikka Varmint contour or the Sporter (Lite) contour. But I can go anywhere in between.
We can go stainless or chromoly. If you choose chromoly, we'll just need to cerakote it or something similar.
Do you want a brake?
All of the above is in my wheelhouse so I'm definitely interested in putting it together for you.

We have an extra 6.5x55se Lefty showing up Monday.
Contact me if some wants it before I put it on the site.

You definitely need a recoil lug. It should be bed into the stock.
If it's missing, you can get a new one from Brownells.
We haven't started making them for the 695 yet though we have a design completed.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Eric!
Today was the first day all year I actually felt “better”. I had my post op appointment where they explained why they had to tear me open more than planned… My gut was in bad shape.
The good news is I'm on the mend.
And anxious to start building stuff again!
