Great job!  And well documented.  The riser looks like a significant improvement over the typical Kydex diy risers.

Ok let me lay the foundation.
I was looking for a 300 WM used and cheap.  I was looking for the WM mainly based on MT’s new bottom metal.
I realize the short mag has advantages.

I want a rifle that works and fits my preferences which are based on my ol timy preferences.  Some day I’ll have a wsm but until then the win mag is the plan.  I also have 100 adm brass for 300 win mag.

With Mountain tac’s Long bottom metal and the fact that I have some brass and Willis collet die I lean toward the 300 WM.
And btw hi dog so glad to hear from you!

I have not ruled it out, in fact I would love to find one cheap lol, that said I have a soft spot for 300 WM.  I know for sure that the 300 short mag is a better starting point.
Let me know if you see a sale on either

I hear what you need, but I recommend you get a mountain tac pic rail and then look for rings.

Any advice on removing the T1 bolt handle? What measurement Allen wrench should I use?

Lol Larkin you are probably correct!  Let me amend my search to the United States!
That said, I bet you and your friends might have some advice on building a long range 300 win mag on a Tikka platform!

Tikka Shooters Forum favicon icon 21 Bullseyes

Barnes recommends seating the TTSX, TSX and LRX to 0.050 in off the lands (I assume as a starting point).

Quite a few shooters seat the TTSX etc. further off the lands than traditional cup and core bullets.  Most start at 0.050 and move away from the lands until the find the sweet spot – some over 0.100 from the lands.

I like to put quality picatinny rails on all my Tikka’s so I can move scopes between them.  I usually get +20 moa extended rails and low rings, although the sporter master has a very nice adjustable stock which makes ring height selection a bit less critical.

That is good news! I hope you can document the process with pictures!
