bolt lift after firing should not be much more if at all heavier than opening & cocking the bolt on an empty chamber.  I would scrub the chamber… and then do it again.  Then closely inspect your brass for pressure signs.

I have one.  It is the same for short or long mags.  The yellow follower just slides in on top of your existing follower.  Works great.

I do not have a 308 but I do have a 6.5×55 and a .223.  They both are very accurate and the triggers are awesome.  There are pictures and targets from a few of these rifles from different owners in the picture section I believe.

Is the forend stiff enough to remain free floating on the barrel if a bipod is used?

Is the forend wide enough to be opened up for a varmint weight barrel?

It is very accurate.  24″ barrel. I head shot some racoons that were tearing up the feeder but didn,t get a shot at any deer. Season over now so I will take it after some wild hogs. Best load is 140 Amax over 48.0 H4831SC with Lapua brass

You should have seen me at the range trying to single load my T3 Sporter in .223.  I wound up single loading the magazine for each shot.  These single shot assist devices are perfect.

The rifle looks great!  I see your mention of a new barrel with barrel nut system.  Is this like a Savage barrel nut?  Just screw the new barrel in until headspace is good then tighten the nut?  If so, are barrels and a new nut readily available, or is this straight custom work?
