Single Round Loading Device
Saw a message thread discussing single round loading a T3. This can be a bit of a pain, especially with .223 size rounds, as the long action combined with the small port makes it difficult to smoothly load a single round into the chamber by hand. I use a T3 Varmint (.223) and now a T3 Sporter (.308), equipped with match sights, in NRA High Power Rifle competition (Across-the Course). In the slow fire prone and slow fire offhand stages, you need to single load rounds. I ran across a magazine insert for single round loading made by Bob Hahin, who makes the ubiquitous Bobsled single round loader for AR-15s used in competition, and have been using these in my Tikkas – they work great!

Thanks for the lead! I just tried mine at the range yesterday and they work great. Just pop the insert in for single loading or pop it out for normal repeater function. I tried a tip from another member here, using a long action magazine for the .223 – this almost worked for me but the bullet tip just barely caught the chamber face. This new sled works great.
