I have a T3 Hunter in 270wsm. With the factory walnut stock I had plenty of play with the recoil lug and I was getting 1″ groups with factory ammo. It would benefit from a bedding job.
I went with a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock and it has an integrated recoil lug system in the stock and is very tight with no play at all. Now I am shooting .5-.75″ groups with factory ammo depending on bullet weight, I was really pleasantly surprised. Best $ spent on my rifle so far.

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the input and advice. I ended up going with the Zeiss. In the end the Rapid Z 800 reticle matched my caliber perfectly and I don't plan on dialing with my turrets. The less math and calculating I have to do in my head the better and I won't need the exactness of dialing.
Will post a review as soon as I get it mounted. Now I need a new T3 for my old scope hahah!

Larkin, I'm not overly concerned about the support and USA made but if I can get it I will always prefer that. I did handle the Zeiss and agree the quality is very high that's why I am still very much considering it.
The reason I have a Tikka is probably the same of most of us on here. They are an awesome rifle! And I can get parts and service online here too 🙂

Coyote268 I agree with you on the USA made and that Zeiss would be more difficult for service, didn't think about that. Vortex are USA made and have one of the best warranties I have been able to find they'll replace it even if I break it.
ShtrRdy I do like to hold over rather than dial for my purposes, and the Vortex does come with an illuminated ret. Thanks for your input.

I am ordering a Wheeler torque wrench to play around with the torque amd will have to play around with it next weekend. Went to the range this morning and shot some decent groups just under to about 1 MOA. I think once I get the torque right and get the right ammo I'll be set. But I am hunting with this rifle not comp shooting so even with my worst group I have a dead animal.
The new MT stock was awesome and def felt much better the the factory stock. I'm really happy with it. Shot a few groups standing and from the bench and def noticed a big difference in recoil and all around it was much nicer and way more stable.

All I have been able to find here are Federal PowerShok 130gr and Fed fusion 150's. So far surprisingly the Shoks seem to shoot better shooting just under 1 moa at 100yds.
My groups have been opening up a bit more as I have put more rounds through the rifle and I have seen noticeable dents in the factory recoil lug. So hopefully the new stock and lug will help, there was no play at all between the action and MT stock and lug when I installed it. Where as the factory stock would move back and forth when the action bolts weren't tightened up. Any advice from anyone on this area would be appreciated as I am fairly new to any sort of mods and tuning.
I would like to get into reloading but have no clue where to start and no experience in reloading. Any advice ?

Thanks ND, I saw your .308, looks awesome with the Boyds. How do you like the thumbhole? I have never shot one.
I also picked up a DNZ one piece billet scope mount this week so hoping to get under .75moa with some good ammo. I haven't looked at reloading it yet but am thinking about it cause 270wsm is hard to get here in Hawaii.

Love the classic safari look of this rifle!

When I have been hunting with my T3 in a stand I just press a little harder and slowly take the safety off with my thumb and can operate it with no sound

Got the recoil pad and manned up a bit and held on to my rifle a bit better and had no problems. It is much better and I am getting used to it and shooting sub 1″ groups. Love this rifle.
Thanks for the tips!
