Recoil lug fitted to action
I have a tikka t3 lite SS 270wsm. I have been reloading for years and have yet to find an accurate load. I load for several guns and have no problems with other calibers. I have tried every powder, bullet combination i can think of. So lately I checked my recoil lug and noticed it is extremely loose fitting to the slot in the action. Is it supposed to fit tight? I ordered a new SS lug and it fits somewhat snug in the stock but still very loose in the action. Is anybody else experiencing this?

I'll raid Jason's notebook for his 270 WSM- it's a very accurate rifle.
The recoil lug can't move if you want accuracy. I'll get some info for tomorrow at the shop. -
I have a T3 Hunter in 270wsm. With the factory walnut stock I had plenty of play with the recoil lug and I was getting 1″ groups with factory ammo. It would benefit from a bedding job.
I went with a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock and it has an integrated recoil lug system in the stock and is very tight with no play at all. Now I am shooting .5-.75″ groups with factory ammo depending on bullet weight, I was really pleasantly surprised. Best $ spent on my rifle so far.
