Can't hurt. I've done it with various rifles,and not with others. Depends on my available range time and patience. I had a 300 Ultra that was a copper mine until the 3rd set of five. I love my 338 T3. Been thinking about a B&C stock for it too. The only down side to owning the 338 Tikka is it's taking time away from my M700 300 Ultra. But,at 7 3/4 pounds field ready it has earned the right to do it.How can it get any better? Keep us updated on the lug.

I've currently got two 25/06s and love them both. One is an older M700 and the other is a new T3 blued / synthetic. Two of my pet loads for the Quarter Otter are 56gr of RL19 under a Combined Tech 85gr Ballistic tip. The other is 52gr of Imr 4350 under the 100gr Speer Boat Tail. Nice! I've got a couple 25/06s and love them. One is a T3 blued under a 4X-12X Leupold. You do much load development with yours?

I love mine. It just plain shoots great. I got it about 2 weeks before oue deer season last fall,and took a doe under the chin with a 150gr Nosler at 300yds +/- a yard or two. Looks like you got yourself a beauty!

Sako A7.  ;D    Just kidding ;). The T3 is so appealing due to it's value for the buck. Hard to beat it from a price standpoint. As far as the two,595/695 VS the T3 it's a dead heat. There are offsettting features both ways. The 695s I've been around didn't set my world on fire. Nice but not spectacular.

Thanks yukonal. I do like my venison. I originally bought the rifle as an elk rifle for my daughter. She should be able to go fall after next. I figured I should wring it out on a deer this fall for good measure. I'm considering a brake for it,but really don't think she will need one in a hunting situation. Could be. I have a semi custom 284 win on a Remington long action as well. While it will shoot nice little bug holes,it's more fussy about what you feed it. It didn't come to be for $550.00 either,lol. The barrel alone was over $300.00 :o. For what I have in it I could own 2 stainless Tikkas. Things that make you say “Duh”

That's a “Pogo Stick” that I make from time to time. It's a stainless steel upright with 2 spikes and an adjustable cradle. Nothing fancy,but quite portable and solid for walking varminting.  I'll often carry a small sandbag in a fanny pack as well for the toe of the rifle.
