Well the new Tikka performed like a champ this evening :). Our anterless deer season opened today. Saw lots of doe too,but no good shots. Not a big fan of moving targets. This evening a few came out into the field my daughter and I were watching at 300yds give or take a couple yards. It was aparent they had no intensions of coming in any closer for her to get a shot,so I obliged them. From a good rest and a prone shooting position,I took the biggest of the doe. She was facing us and a 140gr Sierra under the chin did the job. I dialed this rifle in with 3 different handloads,140,150,and 160gr. They all shoot great 8)! The 140s are dead on @100yds and the 150s print about 3/4″ above them, and the 160s abot an inch above those. No difference in windage, and groups run 3/4″ with all the above. She's light, accurate and a joy to opperate. I have to apologize for the lack of pics :-[. It was getting on to 5:00 and all I had was a cell phone,no camera. My bad. I would have liked to have taken a nice buck with her right off the bat,but this is just fine too.
