Big Old Whistlepig
Hey all. Thought I would post up a pic of a big old groundhog I took with the T3 22/250 a summer ago. I'm good for 100 or so a year of casual hunting. I've popped my share of big one too,but this old girl is by far my biggest. We played hide and seek for a couple outings over the course of a couple weeks. This was a cagey old hogger living in a windbreak between 2 fields. There wasn't any good way to set up on it from a distance. A road and a house prevented that and the lay of the land even worked agains a fella as far as getting down prone. Or sitting for that matter. So,a mono-pod and a standing shot was the solution. The old Tikka did a fine job with 53gr HP Match and H4895. I knew it was a good size hog,but was amazed at the length and girth upon walking up on it. Gotta love whistlepig huntin'.
