What rings
Posted by HKtoTikka on November 11, 2015 at 12:15 amI will be the proud owner of a T3 Sporter (.308 24″).
I ordered the Gen2 Rail 20 MOA extended from here.
I will be putting a Leupold VARI-X III 8.5 x 25 x 50 on it.
I am thinking of getting some Talley LW rings.
What height rings should I be looking to get?
Is that rail going to give me enough to use the lows, or do I need medium?
EDIT:
OK, I do see recommendations for Seekins low rings, so lows should probably be fine.

For best value get SWFA mounts, less than $40 U.s.
For best use I can't say

Huh, I am very familiar with SWFA, before posting here I was reading up on stuff there. I also bought a Swarovski from their samplelist ages ago. I have been noting all the glowing reviews of the SS scopes also.
I never considered them for rings, I will have to look into that.

Talley LW's will be perfect for your rifle. Lows will give you room to spare.

Tallys are light and well made. I was recommending budget rings. My personal favorite are the DNZ Freedom Reaper one piece rings for use on pic rails. They mount the scope high but I plan to switch scopes between rifles so one piece rings make sense.
if in doubt go with Yukonal's recommendation.
