What finish is used on the T3 Laminate stock?
I ask because I'm thinking I'm like to remove a bit more material from the inside of the stock as it appears soft and flexible. I think the barrel could be hitting the stock and cause my accuracy issues. I can squeeze the stock and make it touch the barrel so that tells me it's bad news. Once I shave a few milimeters off the inside of the stock I'll recoat it, probably with 2 component water borne poly (satin).
I'm a professional floor finisher by trade so I'm pretty sure the finish on my gun is a water borne polyurethane, sprayed on. It appears slightly milky in certain lights and would make sense, as the stock is gray, and using oil based polyurethane on gray usually renders an unwanted greenish amber tone.
So, I'm wondering if anyone knows absolutely for sure what finish is on the Laminate stock. If you have worked in the factory, or know someone who has, I'd like to hear from you. No guesses please as a google search resulted in a bunch of silly answers (ie it's Gun Oil! or “Matte” finish, not covered polyurethane). So again, please only reply if you know for sure what Sako uses!
