Tikka TSR-1 Info
Is anybody here familiar with the Tikka TSR-1 rifle built specifically for the PRS Production class? I am looking to expand my LR shooting and play a bit in some of these competitions. I already have a Tikka hunting rifle, so I am very familiar with Tikka quality, fit, finish, and factory triggers. So I think that this Tikka may be the route I want to go.
My issue is that these rifles are a limited edition, and the info on them is spotty. They seem to have been built here in the US using actions from Tikka and McRee stocks. Take a look at the bottom of the attached catalog page and you will see that the web address for the Gray/Black model is actually http://www.tikkaperformance.com. But nothing about them exists at thsi time on that site. Supposedly there were 400 units built in Grey/Black and priced at $1999 MSRP to fall under the Production class limit of $2k MSRP.
But I also have found some with a Bronze/SS color configuration, and they seem to have had a $2049 MSRP according to the attachment. Note this page has the tikka Finland website at the bottom, but I can't find anything on that site now either. According to some other info I found, there were a total of 50 308s and 100 260 Rems in this color. So were these 150 part of the 400, or an additional 150? They technically would not be class-legal at $2049. I also see some places listing them as available in Flat Dark Earth, but I can't find any actual UPNs for this color. I am wondering if these sellers are incorrectly calling them FDE when they are in fact Bronze.
Any information or clarification of any of this would be appreciated.

I love this rifle…I think its just as good as the TAC…don't think one would out shoot the other in any case…
I myself would like a limited edition like this if I was in the market to buy right now, but would not turn down either rifle… -

http://www.tikka.fi/rifles/tikka-t3x/t3x-tac-a1I know all about the TAC A1. It is somewhat difficult to compare these two rifles because so much is different between them. The TAC is not stainless, not a heavy barrel profile, and uses a much less rigid AR-style stock. And the TAC has a higher street price than the TSR-1.
On the plus side, the TAC does have a 2-stage trigger, but the single stage Tikka trigger is so nice, I don't know how much of an advantage the 2-stage has over the standard trigger. The TAC is available in barrels longer than 20″ (but not in 308), and is available in 6.5 Creedmoor. So unless you just specifically want a 24″ Creedmoor, I don't see the TAC having a significant advantage anywhere, and it is at a disadvantage in a number of areas.
And what is the problem with a limited edition? That seems like an advantage to me, not a disadvantage.
EDIT: The TAC does come with a muzzle brake, and also comes with 2 magazines as compared to the 1 mag with the TSR. These are rather small details, but they do put a couple of points in the TAC column.

flyinphil you are correct that there is not much info on the TSR-1. I purchased mine this past summer when eurooptic had them on sale for $1349. It is more FDE than bronze in color with the SS heavy barrel and shoots like a dream just like my tikka .223 varmint. It is chambered in .260 and though I don't reload, of the four factory flavors I have shot through it, my best group was with the 142gr. FGMM. Second place would be Hornady 130gr. ELD. Topped it with a Leupold Mark 4 with Seekins Rings and a Seekins brake. Head over to Snipershide in the Tikka thread a few guys post about their TSR-1's. If you have any more questions, ask away!
