Tikka T3x TAC A1 **First Range Day**
Made it out to the range today. New Tikka T3x Tac A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Pretty apprehensive but hopeful of good happenings. Mounted a NightForce 5-25×56 MOAR (not an f1) with Burris Signature 34mm rings, ones with the eccentric inserts. Mounted to give a 20 moa of elevation. Fired one round and cleaned with solvent patch’s only, till clean (3 wet patches and then one clean dry down the tube). Got on the paper at 100 yards the second shot. Made several scope POI adjustments and keep cleaning, as above one shot, then clean, up to 11 rounds total fired. Barrel got slightly easier to clean by the time I got to the 11th round. Durning the clean and shoot, shot the last five rounds into a group, each shot with a clean barrel and no fouling shots. Group was right at 1/2 inch for the five rounds. Was way tickled, but there were like 5 other bullet holes on the same target no one would have believed my 1/2 inch group with all the other sightin holes on the target. So shot five consecutive rounds at the second target, no fouling and no cleaning in between shoots. Result is below (if I was successful in getting it attached), it’s just under a half inch, one ragged hole. When cleaned after the five consecutive rounds the cleaning was really no more involved (harder) than when cleaning after each individual round. Really stoked as it seems to shot to same POA with a cold barrel, clean or dirty and no fouling shot needed to get things started. All this with factory over the counter Hornady 140 grain EDL Match ammo. Been pretty good day. Yes you could say I’m a happy camper.
