After 3,000 rounds my 6.5CM barrel needs to be replaced. Since you can’t buy a barrel from Tikka it means you have to go aftermarket. I’ve noticed a couple of things and want to know what others have done. I’ve found two manufactures that do make a barrel without a barrel nut for the TAC A1. But I have a question the barrels with the barrel nut – the nut is just a hair (.041) bigger then the bushing opening. Could the bushing opening be increased to allow the nut to pass through without degrading the integrity of the bushing?

IMO just take it to a good gunsmith , most people don’t realise barrels are classed as a consumable item and don’t plan how/when there going to get replace , last year I replace my .223 & 6.5 , also 0.041 is quite a difference
