Tikka T3x Superlite 6.5 Creedmoor
Quick review of Tikka T3x superlite in 6.5 creedmoor:
Likes:
Very Light: Mine measured 6lbs 2oz
Great Balance in hands
Seems accurate but only breaking done thus far while setting up new scope
24.3″ barrel fluted compared to the more common 22″ hunters and still as light for tad more velocity
The rifle is only available at Cabelas\BassPro (strata camo) or Sportsmans warehouse (black)
Issues:
Price a little high $899.99; would have liked it better without issues below was not expecting them at this price point
Recoil pad hard as rock not that 6.5 kicks but moves with light rifle; prefit limb-saver airtech is great still moves but like nothing on shoulder with the limb-saver; put one on a Ruger American in 6.5 same effect very nice shooting for younger smaller people as well that one was 6.6 lbs
Mine has issues with the chamber scratching brass and very heavy bolt lift with Hornady factory 147 ELD-M and Federal 123 factory ammo; bolt cycles smooth without ammo, both new unfired ammo and fired empty brass exhibit heavy bolt lift with fire ammo the worst to the point of hitting bolt up hard to get it loose
Cleaned Rifle before testing including bolt with CLP
The factory plastic stock touching rifle barrel at two points left white plastic on the barrel at factory plastic bridge between two sides; easy fix with 4 inch grinder and then fine file cleanups
Plastic stock is stiffer than Ruger American Plastic stocks but Tikka’s more pricey so I expect its better
