Tikka T3x Range Report
Got a chance to take my new T3x Lite in 7mm Rem Mag out for a little range time over the weekend. Temperature was between 68-70 degrees with about a 5mph crosswind. I am really impressed with this rifle. It shoots factory Remington 150 grain Cor-Lokts very well…enough so that I'd take them whitetail deer or black bear hunting this minute. I also had some 150 grain Power Shoks that it shot pretty well. The recoil was sharp but I expected that from a lightweight rifle shooting off the bench. Here are a couple pics of my targets.
In this picture, I decided to shoot a 5 shot group after shooting the nice little 3 shot cloverleaf. As the barrel heated the next two shots walked a little on me.
Next picture is some 160 grain Accubonds in Winchester brass from a friend. Don't know the specifics but I think they could be tweaked just a bit and tighten the group up some. This was a noticeably hotter load as the recoil was stout.
I am very pleased with this rifle. I bought it knowing that it was going to be a rifle to be hunted and carried and not as a bench gun. After shooting this one, it makes me want another T3. Looking forward to doing some more load development on this little rifle.
