Tikka T3 lite questions
Got sick of having multiple calibers and am about to get into reloading so I changed over to completely .30 cal bolt actions. Having a 30-06 and .308 Rem 700 I decided to pick up a Tikka T3 lite stainless in .300 WM (wanted a Sako A7 roughtech but was informed they won't be available until later). Now this being my first Tikka I have some questions about the rifle.
First on breaking down the rifle I noticed the retaining pin for the bolt release protruding from the receiver , I didn't notice it until I started to put it back together, is the pin suppose to protrude out or is it suppose to be flush?
Second is how can you ensure that the rifle is centered on the recoil lug? I put it back together and pushed/tugged on the receiver and did not notice any movement, but just wanted to ensure that there isn't a better method.
Also I have all ready been checking into stocks and have it narrowed down to a B&C or Boyds' to add some weight to it, plan on a limb saver, but does anyone make any bottom metal for this gun that is a direct replacement for the OEM part? Not looking for an ACIS magazine system.
Looking forward to be able to get this rifle to the range once I figure out a scope and rings for it.
