Tikka T3 Hunter Stock question
Posted by groc426 on February 28, 2013 at 4:31 amThis is a stupid questions, but I just received my Tikka T3 hunter and it's the first gun I've owned/used with a walnut stock. The stock feels almost laminated. Is this the way walnut stocks feel? It almost feels and sounds fake. Thanks!

I don't understand what you mean by “it feels laminated”. How does a laminated stock feel? I have several lam and walnut stocks, and they all just feel like…wood.
Don't worry, it's the real McCoy, the walnut Hunter stocks are real walnut.
Welcome, and let us know how it shoots!

Thank you for the reply. I realize what a stupid question it is, but my wife agreed with me. The stock for some reason feels a little like it's plastic made to look like walnut. Again, I've never used a walnut stock though, so this is a new experience to me. I'm just surprised how light it is for being made of wood. I'm used to my dad's old browning. There is no mistake that thing is made of wood.
Any ways, hopefully I'll get it out next weekend to go shoot up some coyotes. I'm really excited about trying it out after everything I've read about Tikka's and glad to be part of a great community of owners.
