Tikka Boar Hunter
I purchased a Tikka Boar Hunter from Cabelas. This model was a special run for Cabelas. Beretta USA has no information on it since the order did not go through them. Cabelas can only tell me that it has a stainless steel barreled action with a matte black finish. This model comes with sights and a picatinney rail attached and camo stock. The barrel is fluted. If anyone has information regarding the finish on these models please comment.

I have one, I am pretty sure it is a deep bluing, not painted or covered stainless. took mine out today, shoots just like my other tikka. this one come with a rail and sights, which is why I wanted it.

New to the forum – Howdy! Just got my Boar Hunter from Cabelas and am about to take it hunting this upcoming weekend. Going after a nilgai bull. I am having the rifle zeroed at 200 yds and have put a limbsaver on it. Will take it to the range (hopefully) on Wednesday to put a few 250 grain Federals downrange. Will let y'all know how she runs.

Limbsaver is good idea. The boar hunters i have looked at in Cabellas, seem light and recoil is an issue. In 270 you have a great caliber. Not sure about rust potential but if stainless, then shoot and clean like any rifle with focus on copper fouling not rust.
