Tikka 695 / Boyds Precision Varmint Stock
The only aftermarket stocks I could find for my old 695 were available from Boyds. I have used various models on Savages in the past with good results, so I thought I would give one a try. Got the old Tacticool, now Precision Varmint Hunter, in Zombie Green! It fits very nicely, no tweaking required; the built in metal recoil lug has a little play before tightening up the action screws. I will install pillars and bed the lug before shooting. While the original shot great, with only around 100 rounds in the 300WM I'm making the old girl purdy for more hunting while I can. Also bedded a new 20moa scope rail and installed a Lumley bolt handle. Can't wait to shoot the old girl again, and this time out to 1000yd with the new rail. The old setup and scope dropped elk at 350-550 yards before running out of adjustment, and I know she will get out there now.
