Tikka 300 win mag bolt cracking?
I have a tikka t3 in 300 win mag that the bolt cracked. The rifle fired normally recoil was the same as any others that I had shot that day. When I attempted to open the bolt it took more force than normal. I removed the bolt from the rifle and saw the crack. I spoke to someone at beretta who gave me the information for a gunsmith in California called Bosa gunsmithing who handles their west coast work. I talked to them and they said that likely it would not be warrantied. They said take up your claim with the ammo manufacturer. Unfortunately I don't recall what companies ammo it was. I don't reload so that wasn't some homemade hot load or error.
I would like it fixed but the gunsmith said if it's not warrantied a new bolt costs 400$. Seems outrageous to me.
Anyone have any thoughts on where I could find a used bolt for considerably less than $400
