Threading a T3 Lite 300WM for a suppressor
First off, I'm new here and this is a great forum. Second, I have searched the forum but I have had no luck finding the information I am looking for.
I have a T3 Lite SS in 300WM that I am wanting to suppress. I have a Griffin Armament Optimus that I will be using. However, Griffin states that the Optimus requires a 24″ barrel on a 300WM to be safe. I have seen several of you using a 9/16×24 thread on your rifles for muzzle breaks. Will that give enough shoulder to safely mount a suppressor? I assume it will be but I hate to assume. Is there enough barrel at 24″ or would I be better with a 14x1mm?

I have not mounted a suppressor on my Lite but can't see why a 9/16 thread would not work.
That was only option a gunsmith would complete on my 300wsm…Its worked out well for me using a muzzle break…see attached.

Thanks for the reply. I saw your pictures earlier and they are what got me thinking about the 9/16×24. Before I had assumed I would need to go with the AK 14x1mm threads. I may still have to depending on what I hear back from Griffin. I would really like to use one of their muzzle breaks when I'm not using the suppressor since they are the mounting devices as well.

I think you will be fine with 14x1mm….but right at the edge of what a smith will want to thread on the lite barrel…

I've talked to a machinist that I know does very good work and he has asked if the barrel is tapered. My first thought was no but now I'm not sure. Can you tell me? My gun is in my dad's safe while I am moving.

Have a look at Tier-one there moderator fits into there muzzle brake , there a great bit of kit

Thanks, I may look into them. I'm really wanting to stick with Griffin Armament because the Optimus suppressor is a taper mount.
