Tactical versus Varmint model
Posted by ShtrRdy on August 30, 2014 at 10:19 pmWhat are the differences between the T3 Tactical model and the T3 Varmint model? From the pictures it looks like the Tactical adds a movable cheekpiece, a scope base, and a threaded muzzle. I'm just trying to understand why the Tactical model is so much more money? – Todd

Beside the differences you listed the tactical has a better barrel and action.

The super varmint has all of the things listed and the varmint all but the adjustable cheek piece

Because it says Tactical. It has phospate finish. The bolt has some sort teflon finish. I'm not sure the Tactical has a better action or barrel.
If you're looking for a .308, you'll be extremely lucky to find a new supervarmint or varmint. The CTRs are still available.
I was a Tikka-whore for a couple of years and had both but sold the Tactical to fund a custom 6.5 Creedmoor build. Performance-wise, they were the same for me.

Thanks for the info.
I've got a custom in 260 Rem that I adore. But I really like my T3 in 22-250. I even like the stock. I just wish it had an adjustable cheek piece. Lately, I've been thinking of getting a T3 Varmint in .223.

I have a super varmint which has all those features like previously stated, as far as im aware the
