Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I do apologize if I am repeating a discussion thread that has already been created.
Does anybody have recommendations for .30-06 ammunition for hunting deer? I am curious what other T3X owners have found to shoot the most accurate through their rifles. Responses would be greatly appreciated.
Rifle: Tikka T3X Lite Stainless .30-06
Mount: DNZ Game Reaper (One-Piece)
Scope: Vortex Diamondback 3-9×40
Thanks,
I hunted with 185 gr magnum loads and regretted it. If you are not hunting elk or moose then use 150- 165 gr bullets , but mainly hunt with most accurate bullets. Tikkas are 1:11 twist in 30 cal. Use 150-180 gr bullets
I’ve had good success using Federal Fusion 180 grain in my T3 30-06. Very accurate and puts them down. Full disclosure: I haven’t had to use it past about 150 yards. This ammo doesn’t break the bank either.
I just took a deer using 165gr Barnes TSX bullet. Really nice expansion. Dropped instantly.
