Are you talking about squaring off the face of the receiver?

Sorry is that what blue printing / truing the action up? I'm really new to this stuff. What I'm looking for is making my tikka into a long range hunting rifle out to 8-900 yards rifle? Just don't know if I should or need to do action work to it ? What I have so far is a manner EH-3 stock and NF scope and probably getting a bartlein #3 barrel 27″ maybe in 7lrm

I inquired about 7mm LRM with Northwest Action Works and here is their reply:
“We would love to help you with your project, but there are two problems that will pretty much make it a deal breaker.
First, we don't really work on Tikka's, and we're so busy with the Rem 700 work that getting tooled up to work on them is pretty unfeasible at this time.
Second, we have done some work with the 7 LRM, and ended up scrapping it. It sounds like Gunwerks is doing some extra throat work on these that they aren't revealing to the public, and it has been a frustrating cartridge to say the least. The dies were a pain too. From where I sit, if you really want the LRM I'd suggest getting it through Gunwerks, as it is their baby.
We're getting ready to work on a “new” cartridge here pretty soon, a version of the 7mm/300 Win Mag that is showing some real promise. Something to think about anyway.
Sorry we can't be more help at this point! I hope you can find what you're looking for!

Hi, I've recently completed a project with. T3 action, Manners stock and a barrel from a manufacturer here in Australia, it's in 260 rem. everyone I spoke to about the build said there wasn't any real need to do any work on the action. So far I'm having pretty good results so they might be right.

BigB-AMT thanks for the reply, i have been thinking about the 7LRM just becuase a friend just bought the reamer from gunwerks, i do really like the sounds of the 7/300win also they are getting some good result out of them with the 180 hybrid bergers. i will have to looking into the LRM a little more.. i might just have it rebarreled 270wsm with a 1-9 twist barrel so i can shoot the 165 matrix vld:) since its already a 270wsm.
Greggles12, thanks for the reply the 260 is a nice round, have you got any groups after getting the gun done and how far have you shoot it, … -
This is one of the first groups out of it at 100, using 130g Berger VLDs hunting. I played with powder but haven't adjusted seating depth. The flyer is my 3rd shot. I always ruin groups with my 3rd shot. I've only shot paper at 100, but have shot a steel disk at 500 with relative ease.
