T3 Lite vs CTR
I'm looking to buy a T3 in .308 in the near future, but I'm not sure which model would best fit my intended purpose. I will be putting the rifle in a chassis (MDT LSS XL), and the rifle will mostly be used for target shooting and some infrequent hunting (at a stand).
While I like the thicker and threaded barrel, as well as the included rail, on the CTR, I'm not sure if that is justification for the price difference from the Lite model (~$375 at my LGS). Especially because the chassis I'm planning on using would allow me to use magazines with the T3 Lite, that feature of the CTR seems to be a waste of money.
However, I realize that if I were to find the Lite's barrel too inconsistent for target shooting, it would easily cost upwards of $500 to get the rifle re-barreled. That being said, I am a new shooter, so perhaps I should be realistic about the Lite being able to outshoot me.
Any opinions/advice?
