Supressor/silencer
I recently put the required paperwork into the government for a 30 cal suppressor. I chose the 30 cal with the understanding that it would be helpful on sub calibers (like .223 and at the smallest .17WSM). I am looking at at least 4 months before approval. My question is for those of you that use suppressors on Tikkas. Do you need to thread the Tikka lights with a support nut? In the U.S. we have basically 2 standard thread patterns : 1/2×28 for .224 and 5/8X24 for larger. I have a 30-06 hunter which has a slender barrel that i want to thread for this suppressor but dont want to shorten the barrel much. Have you done this modification on yours for a direct thread suppressor and did you need to add a nut to give the can a bit of stabilization?
