Building a “tac-hunter” in Tikka T3 .300 Win Mag. LEFT HAND ( it is my disability as a shooter…. ::) ;D )
I want to be able to shoot long range tell and Elk with the same gun. Yeah…I am cheap. But, I also have always ascribed to ” Beware the man with only one gun – for he likely knows it very well” as a personal credo. I have been hunting/shooting with a Browning A-Bolt in 7 RemMag. and – I am moving to .300 Win Mag for just a little better flatter “reach”.
So – I have a Manners stock on order – but it will be 7 months before I see it. I will be bedding the factory stock and pillar bedding the action screws, add a Limbsaver, and a JEC muzzle brake. Will add an adjustable cheek riser as well. But, this is as far as I can take the factory stock.
In reading about current scopes until my eyes bleed – I am thinking about a MRAD reticle variable power scope using a G2 or EBR-2B or 2C reticle – that is really good in low light and tracks well…yet allows me to keep one kidney for future cocktail processing 😉 ;D.
Thus far – it looks like the Bushnell Tactical Elite, and the Vortex lines have some products to choose from..but – has anyone here used them? Likes? Dis-likes? Other products that I should consider given I want the type of reticle described above?
Thanks for your input!
