Recoil pad
Posted by mikkyc on March 26, 2016 at 5:34 pmHello all. First time post here but lurked for some time.
I have M595 Master Sporter in 308, original walnut stock. I have no idea why – but recoil pad plastic parts broken in small pieces beyond repair. I never dropped it or anything like that. Always in padded Pelican case. Rubber parts are ok.
I spent few days on the net trying to locate replacement to no avail. Brownells discontinued and Beretta too.Any idea what to do?
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the model but see if limbsaver makes a direct replacement. I have 3 and I really like them, not the slip on ones, see if they make one that screws on like the original.

Thx for reply.
I did check Limbsaver – there's no direct replacement. Some folks on Snipershide modified Limbsaver pad to fit Sako TRG – so it looks I will have to go this route. -
If you have to grind a pad to fit, it would be worth doing some research online. I have read several articles over the years with presumably good tips- like freezing the limbsaver before grinding, making templates etc. I have heard that the finish on limbsavers doesn't look good after grinding but I have no personal experience. I do have a Kick-eez recoil pad that was ground to fit my Red Label shotgun and it looks good and is soft like the limbsaver but not as “grippy” I.e. It doesn't snag on my vest like the limbsaver can.
Good luck
