  Offset scope mounts

  I have a buddy that lost most of the sight in his right eye in college.  He is right handed and uses a 3 inch rib on his shotgun to hunt pheasants and does well.  A higher scope does not fix his left eye-right hand handicap usually.
  I found an offset mount from the paintball world that lets him shoot rifles right hand but left eye at close range.  The problem is that this mount does not seem to track over long range.  I can sight it in at any given range but it is not truly offset. 

  Should I go towards a standard mount and a I-phone “digiscoping” like solution instead of the mechanical offset?
