New Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5×55 Swede
Posted by Deleted User on May 15, 2017 at 2:52 amAfter a brake in period I'd like to start reloading for this rifle. I already reload for my Swede M96 and M38 using IMR 4064 and Hornady 140 gr. HPBT…. In fact I use this powder for all my reloading as it covers all the rifle cals that I shoot.
Is there anyone here that shoots this same rifle that could give me an idea where to start without buying a boat load of different things to try out ?
So far I've put about 30 rounds thru it shooting PPU Match 120 gr. HPBT and it's already very accurate.
Thanks !

The best powder for any 6.5 is H4350 if you can get it , but I've had good results with Vith 150 for the lighter loads

What little shooting I've done so far I can tell this little rifle is going to out shooting the new Vortex 4x12x44 scope I placed on it. I made plans today to sell the new scope to a friend at work and step up a little higher.
My hunting days are pretty much over and I plink at different distances for fun. Thanks again !

Love the Swede!
My T3 Stainless Lite loves 120 Ballistic Tips over 47 grains of H4350 lit by a Fed 210. Should be going around 2850 fps and very consistently 1/2 moa.

Larkin is right H4350 is the perfect powder for the 6.5×55
And the 6.5 creedmoor and several others in this rangeI have been distracted for the last year or so but I plan to work up several loads using H4350 and the Berger 140 hybrid and the nosler 140 gr custom competition.
I will post soon, take care folks

When you test the Nosler's , when you find a good load try seating the bullets at different depths to tighten the group up even more , in my Creedmore I got the best results seating them .02 from the lands
