New CTR .308. Should I get another stock?
Posted by MOA_Chaser on September 10, 2015 at 9:08 pmI just got a CTR chambered in .308. My purpose for this gun is for hunting and occasional, casual long range target shooting.
The rifle will already be one of my heavier ones. I am wanting to get the stock (whatever it will be) hydrodipped; should I look at another option or will I be good to go with the factory stock?
Also, the mags for these are stupid expensive. Can you change the bottom metal to take cheaper, but still quality mags?

Yes there are aftermarket bottom metals for $200-$300 but I'm not sure you'd be saving much on mags after that lol.

I went with a boyds laminated tactical stock for a T3 varmint
It was nessary to modify the lower opening for the ctr
Metal and slightly deeper recess. It will give more weight and control for
The target type shooting. Plus a good platform to bed it. -

Mountain tactical is working on magazines that might work for you. I am not privy to the date they will be avail, but I bet it will be worth waiting for.

I think you should go for it… and by the way I will take your CTR stock. What do you want for it

They have new magazines coming.

Did he say that the new mags are going to cost just over half what the TRG mags cost? If so, that's a major plus! 🙂
