My Recently Re-Barreled Tikka Hunter In 6.5×55
This is my first re-barreled Tikka. Not my first re-barreling project, it's just the first Tikka I've re-barreled.
I changed out the 22″ factory barrel to a 26″ Wilson barrel. The rifle is chambered in 6.5×55 Swedish and I felt that the 22″ barrel just wasn't allowing for optimum performance for this cartridge. I was extremely happy with the end results. I'm presently still working up loads for it but preliminary testing show that it's still has all the accuracy potential as it did right out of the box.
Pictured next to my newly re-barreled Tikka Hunter is my Tikka Lite stainless. This latter rifle is chambered in 223 Remington. It is presently undergoing a re-barreling to a shorter barrel and to the 223 Ackley Improved chambering.
