My new T1X 17 hmr
I picked up a T1X 17HMR last week at Scheels in Fargo. I threw the 3-9 cheapo scope from my old Marlin (dovetail mounts) on it and shot a box of shells. I was decently impressed even without proper rests and factory setting on the trigger.
I also recognized that this rifle needed some things to get the most from it so I ordered an EGW 11mm dovetail rail for the CZ's from Midway (birthday discount) and an Ernie the Gunsmith Varmint trigger spring for T3's. I have a nice T3 Sporter stock on hand (from my 6.5X55 Sporter which now sits in a GRS Berzerk) and tonight I went to work on the new T1X. I have a Sightron SIII 8-32 and SWFA SS Tac medium picatiny rings. Also put my Mack Bros. Tango suppressor and Sinclair FTR Bipod on it !
The bottom metal and magazine box didnt fit in the narrow opening of the stock but it was a simple matter to open it up 2-3 mm. There is a small plastic pin at the back of the bottom metal that I accomodated with a drill bit behind the rear action bolt ( I didnt want to cut the pin off in case I wanted to sell it as factory stock in future).
The Happy Result:The deep belly of the stock makes the magazine a bit hard to pluck out, but it
nearly falls free when the release is pressed – I'll live with that :bthumb:
