  M695 recoil lug replacement

  I have a M695 IN 30-06 with synthetic stock. I want to replace the stock but the recoil lug is part of the stock. I guess I could cut the synthetic stock up for the lug but would rather not. I can not find one for sale. Question I have is could I just put some heavy pillars in the new stock and will that work? Does not seem like it would. I cant be the first to run across this problem so any ideas? I am sure a custom lug would be more expensive than it is worth. I am open to ideas. Thanks
