left hand T3 brass hitting scope
Posted by buddy1 on May 4, 2015 at 12:07 amwell i just got back from breaking in my new 270wsm T3 left hand and noticed that the Parallax adjustment dial on my Leupold vx6 3-18 is in the line of fire so to speak,as i noticed when you eject a case it flies up and hits the dial which has nicks in it,not real sure how to remedy this as i don't want to use higher rings as the set up i have is perfect for my cheek weld.Any ideas short of putting a small strip of black electrical tape on the underside of the dial but this would affect the function of the dial,,sucks being a southpaw.

If you scope retical is a simple duplex just turn the scope 90 degrees and use the windage as elevation and elevation for windage sounds weird but plenty of target shooters use this technique so they can keep there hand hold. if you have a complex retical wont work

With my left hand sako classic 7mm mag, I installed a vortex scope with parallax adjustment and when ejecting brass forcefully, the brass would bounce off the parallex turret and bounce back into the action causing some issues. I actually had this issue crop up for the first time while taking a giant oregon 4×4 mulie. Fortunately, the shot through the lung and liver did the trick so a second shot wasn't needed. My solution was to take off the vortex and mount a zeiss conquest 3-9×40, which is a fantastic hunting scope.
