inletting B&C medallist for cdi bottom metal
Definately a well made stock if you keep things for OEM bottom metal but i went with CDI and AI magazines as im not a big fan of plastic parts but in hindsight i should have left it as it was.
Here is the reason,after receiving the parts from tikka performance in super fast delivery time all the way to new zealand i sent the stock and metal to my gunsmith for inletting.
At the range the gun was printing 2″ to the left then after a few more shoots 2″ to the right,so i put it back into OEM stock and BANG! submoa, just the way i like it.
So, no i am not happy,back to the smith for more work,bedding etc,i added some pics,what do you guys think? something went clearly wrong here!
the gunsmith had to remove quite a bit of alloy to be able to fit the bottom metal,maybe a bit to much?

Well, it seems we're all learning a little bit about B&C stocks as we go. I would have your 'smith skim bed the stock/action, and make sure he beds the bottom metal also. Not doing so can haunt you.

yep,of she goes first thing monday morning,i have also noted that the B&C stock does not have a flat bottom area like the OEM stock does and is not scalloped either for the tikka action tang,i find that very strange!
you can clearly see the difference from the two pictures,i would definately not call this a straight drop in stock! -
is that aluminum recoid lug in the B&C?

I've never seen an inletting job on these stocks where the gunsmith had to cut “all” the aluminum away on both sides of the channel…basically cutting the full length bedding block in half.
Can't see this being a good thing considering the full length bedding block was designed into the stock for stability. Call B&C and confirm if they recommend this…its screams NO to me.Can you twist and bend the stock after the inletting?
