Front action screw hole ripped through.
Hi guys i just picked up my first tikka t3 lite in 223. I took it out of the stock to wipe it down when i got home from buying it and went to tighten the action screws down to 62 inch pounds like the manual said and the front hole in the bottom metal dished out from the screw head and now the front action screw wont let the bolt close. 62 inch lbs sounded way high since my sakos all say 50 inch lbs max. Is this correct? And where could i get new bottom metal? So far im not to impressed.

You are correct the Manuel is wrong , I’ve forgotten what it should be , hopefully somebody will be along and tell you the correct setting , has for the bottom metal if you Uk try tier-one if your USA mountain tactical if your somewhere else ether one , I’d also replace the screws with mountain tactical ones, if it’s a new rifle you could try and complain to the importer and see if you can get it replaced by them !

Info on action screw tightness is sketchy. 35 inch lbs. is a good number to start with. 40 in. lbs sounds good. 60 is damage territory.
