Posted by Rintano on May 6, 2013 at 3:01 pmHello.
Can someone please help me with some information?
I plan to buy a item for weapon cleaning in the USA. I would be there on Holyday trip.
How end where can I get official info if that item have any export restriction. I would like to have a guarantee that I would not have problems on the airport.Tnx

Cleaning supplies such as chemicals would not be allowed on an airplane. For specific restrictions, I would contact the TSA.
If you export by mail, you'll have to talk to the USPS about what they will ship.
As far as actual export laws for gun parts, it is very easy as long as it is for personal use. The issue I think you'll have is if you're trying to transport chemicals.

Thank You Jason,
I would like to take a Mike Lucas Bore Guide.
What I am afraid is, is because on some items exist export restrictions, like some riflescopes for example. I had a friend who bought a rifle scope, but if was seen on the airport he got 3000$ to pay and he missed the airplane so he was to need to buy an another ticket for 1200$. That's why I want to be sure, because I would unlike to pay 4000$ for a 50$ Bore Guide.Thank you

A bore guide should be no problem. Ordered a bore guide from Sinclair – no problem. Usually manufacturers will have the answer – as him if it is ok to export his product.
Personally I have a hard time understanding USA export policy – and to make my life simpler I order from Jason or Sinclair

Thank You for the answer.
Mike Lucas is a very nice dealer and his product is great, but he want nothing to do with export 🙁
So I think I could not get the answer there.Best regards

I don't think you'll have an issue with a bore guide at all.
Scopes are funny to export. Anything that can be considered “Tactical” or “Long-Range” is a problem. Of course the designation is completely arbitrary.
Midway USA was nailed a while back for shipping “tactical” optics outside the country. They were just standard hunting scopes to us.
