Dollar Bill Test Question?
Posted by crdavis61 on January 20, 2015 at 11:58 pmI did the dollar bill test on my new SS Synthetic Stock 7MM Rem Mag T3 Lite and the dollar bill hit some sort of support that has the same contour of the barrel. This support is between the swivel and the recoil lug. Is this normal? I have not shot the gun. I was just checking it out and was a little surprised so I figured I would ask you experts.

Yes, there are two “nubs” that support the barrel at that location.
Some have removed them to make the barrel free floating to the lug.

What is the risk in removing those nubs?
Never hurt anything in all the ones I removed.

$20 for a cheap dremel knock off and no downside to removing nubs. Its worth trying it in my opinion.
