Do I absolutely need the short bolt stop if rechambering from long to short?
Pretty much the title. I want to rechamber my 30-06 Tikka T3 Lite to 308 Win with a heavy and short barrel for compact and repeatable accuracy out to big game distances and not much further. I want to know if I can leave the action length long with the shorter cartridge without feeding issues or any other problems.
If I can and it's just an annoyance, I'd like to save the bolt stop mod for after I've gotten it rebarreled and accurized.
