Counting Ounces: Stock, Barrels, Bolts etc
I’m looking for a (ultra?) light weight set up (out of the box or a build), but I’m having a hard time with Tikka rifle weight info.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the T3x Lite vs Superlite? For example, the the T3x Roughtech Lite (WITH fluted bolt) is heavier than a T3x Superlite (WITHOUT fluted bolt). Where is the weight savings coming from?
Also, the listed rifle weights of the same specific T3x vary by .3 pounds or so between Cabelas, Sportsmans, and Tikka websites. I asked Tikka customer service (through Beretta) to clarify the weight, and they told me a DIFFERENT weight than all of the other ones!
I’m also trying to decide how much weight savings per $$$$ I can get with aftermarket vs out of the box, and which model of T3x I should choose. So, I’m looking for any information on weight breakdowns for the T3x’s regarding specific components: stock, barrel, and bolt (yes they will vary by model and caliber). Specifically interested in 6.5CM. But any information would be helpful. Once again, I’ve contacted Tikka (through Beretta) to inquire, and they told me specific component weights are “proprietary information” and they don’t share with the public. I guess they forgot that the public already own these rifles and perhaps own a scale too……
Apologies if this is a duplicate inquiry, please direct me to previous threads/discussions/links if they exist. Thank you!
